1,000bhp Hennessey Exorcist Final Edition Arrives to Expel Demons Once and For All
If you’re looking to purge Dodge Demons, you’ve been able to call upon Hennessey’s bonkers Exorcist Camaro since 2017. With the recent arrival of the 1,025bhp Challenger Demon 170, the Texas-based tuner has wheeled out its take on the Chevrolet pony car for one last time.
This is the Exorcist Camaro ZL1 Final Edition, and it comes following confirmation that production of the Chevrolet Camaro will end in 2024.
Hennessey has been serious about its send-off. Rather than throwing some badges at the existing car and calling it a day, the Exorcist Final Edition has had power taken from 840bhp to a nice round 1,000bhp, representing a 350bhp increase over stock, with torque sitting at 966lb-ft.
That power increase comes courtesy of a larger supercharger, a high-flow air intake and an improved fuel system. Other improvements over stock include ported cylinder heads, custom HPE camshafts, upgraded intake and exhaust valves, improved pushrods and a recalibrated engine management system.
The result? A 0-60mph time of 2.1 seconds (albeit with a one-foot rollout), a 217mph top speed and a claimed quarter-mile time of 9.57 seconds.
John Hennessey, Hennessey’s founder, said: “Our comprehensive upgrade to the Camaro ZL1 is one of my all-time favourites. The chassis, suspension, and powerplant work seamlessly together, so all the driver experiences is raw, unbridled horsepower. There’s nothing else like our Exorcist, so we’re eager to share this special limited edition with fans of this iconic car before it’s gone forever.”
Just 57 examples of the Hennessey Exorcist Camaro ZL1 Final Edition will be made, a number chosen as a nod to the Camaro’s production run, each with a number plaque on the engine. ‘Final Edition’ graphics are also emblazoned down the side.
